Subject Matter Area Workgroup Application
Contribute your knowledge and expertise to strengthen CMLS's growing library of Best Practices Guides, white papers, and resources.
CMLS’s Best Practices Program reflects our commitment to continuous improvement – advancing operational efficiency, strengthening governance, and fostering strategic innovation across the industry.
We invite you to apply to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on a Subject Matter Area (SMA) Workgroup. In this role, you will collaborate with peers to evaluate and enhance CMLS’s Best Practices materials within key subject areas, ensuring they remain relevant, practical, and forward-looking.
Applicants who are selected to serve as an SME will receive an official invitation from CMLS to serve a minimum one-year term.
The Best Practices Leadership chooses one SME from each SMA Workgroup to serve as the SMA Lead and participate on the Best Practices Council!
SME applicants who are not immediately placed on an SMA Workgroup may contribute in other ways, such as participating in beta testing, surveys, or other feedback initiatives when broader input is needed.
